What are entities?

Items, characters, levels, dialogues: each is an entity. Entities are how Sophia Forge stores the things you create, and almost all of them can be linked to one another.

An entity is a "thing" in your project: an item, a character, a level, a dialogue. Each entity has its own data, defined by the plugin that owns it.

Some plugins introduce a new type of entity. Items, Characters, Dialogues, Levels, and so on. Other plugins don't add entities at all; instead, they add capabilities that any entity can opt into.

Most of what you do in Sophia Forge happens to entities. Category Templates let you sort and filter them. Notes let you jot markdown next to them. Project Tracking lets you assign status. Even when you're working in one plugin, you're usually layering data or behavior onto entities.

Almost all entities are linkable. You can link anything to anything else. Want to base an item on a character? Link them. The new OST you just produced is a character's theme? Link them. Built a room and want to show which items belong there? Link them too. Even bugs are entities, so if something looks off, snap a bug onto whatever's broken.
